qualified ER/Trauma RN in Carmichael, California, 95608 About The
Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (ER) Job
Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Job Duration: 16 Weeks Shift:
12-Hour Nights, Every Other Weekend, First to Float Guaranteed
Hours: 36 Hours Per Week Experience: Minimum 2 Years License:
Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have:
Level II Trauma experience required (Level I Trauma experience is a
plus) Job Description: - Work in a 30-bed emergency department with
5 trauma bays. - Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. - Use the
Cerner charting system for patient documentation. - Collaborate
with a charge nurse who generally does not take patients but will
provide break relief. - Engage with nurse aides based on census and
staffing needs. - Participate in every other weekend shifts and
holiday rotations with core staff. - Wear navy scrubs; undershirts
must be navy, white, or black, and scrub jackets (optional) must be
navy. - Ability to read and interpret EKG strips is required for
telemetry. - Work with ventilators as needed. - Collaborate with an
in-house hospitalist or intensivist. - Note there is no IV team,
but a pharmacist is on duty 24/7. - Enjoy self-scheduling with
finalized schedules distributed every 4 weeks. - Potential for
floating to other facilities within the area, with rare mid-shift
floats. - Participate in 1-2 days of floor-specific orientation
with a preceptor. - Treat a range of ED patients, including trauma
cases and psych holds, with support from security when necessary. -
Be prepared for possible shift cancellations, up to three times per
contract. Additional Notes: - Modules are required before the
start, taking 3-4 hours, and are not billable. - Travelers will
work two of the three major holidays---Thanksgiving, Christmas, or
New Year's. - Prior to acceptance, a specific examination is
required through Relias, to be completed within 24-48 hours with
two attempts allowed. A screenshot showing the number of attempts
is required. - Self-scheduling is used, but the final schedule will
